Berlin, IFA 2011. You’d like to watch the big match from the comfort of your garden deck or balcony during a barbecue? No problem, with the AQUOS Wireless Lifestyle LCD-TV from Sharp. Simply hook up the set-top box that comes with the TV upon delivery: it uses HDMI wireless technology to transmit whatever’s currently showing to the portable television, so you can enjoy your favourite broadcasts no matter where you are, be it your garden or a room without a cable connection. A practical carrying handle located on the back makes the set easy to move, and its fold-out base gives it maximum stability wherever you place it. Equipped with UV2A technology , LED backlighting and 100 Hz image processing, the AQUOS Wireless Lifestyle produces high-contrast, super-sharp and dynamic images that are bound to wow viewers, even if they’re watching fast-paced sports and action films.

The AQUOS Wireless Lifestyle’s extensive range of media options also contributes to its profile as an all-round entertainment centre. If you want to transmit a Blu-ray disc film to the TV set, simply connect the Blu-ray player to one of the set-top box’s four HDMI input sockets. Its CI+ slot and built-in triple tuner ensure compatibility with all kinds of digital and analogue television signals. It also connects with an external hard drive for recording programmes and replaying them at a later date. Viewers can use Sharp’s own AQUOS NET+ function to access over 70 different apps, including video-on-demand platforms and a TV channel’s media library. During an ad break, you can read your e-mails, find out what the weather forecast is or catch up with the latest TV listings – you can even surf the internet. HbbTV also gives viewers the opportunity to call up extensive additional information about current broadcasts.

Sharp will shortly release information about dimensions, launch dates and prices.
