Coinciding perfectly with ISE 2010, Sharp’s new line-up of professional LC displays seems predestined to grab the attention of the entire sector. The electronics group is the first LCD manufacturer in the world to produce a high-performance monitor with a diagonal of 152 centimetres (60 inches). With three other product innovations, Sharp is also marking its re-entry into the lucrative high-volume market segments for screens with diagonals of 132 centimetres (52 inches), 119 centimetres (47 inches) and 107 centimetres (42 inches).
Sharp maintains the world’s most modern and ecologically most advanced LCD plant in Sakai in Japan. Since October 2009, the technology company has been turning LCD motherglass panels in a size of more than 9 square metres into LCD panels at this 10th-generation manufacturing facility. In creating new production capacities, Sharp is responding both to the continuing worldwide boom in the market for LCD TVs and to the rising demand for professional LCD monitors.
